Beard Papa's
In 1999, a small bakery opened in the small town of Osaka, Japan. People in the town couldn't resist the aroma from the bakery, or the kind face of the owner, Yuji Hirota. His fluffy white beard was so renowned that he became known as "Beard Papa" to all of his regular customers. He perfected the art of his pastries by making a double-layered puff–choux on the inside, and pie crust on the outside. Then, he proceeded to make the perfect filling, made with a mixture of whipped and vanilla bean custard cream. Beard Papa's stores still use the recipe to this day, along with a variety of new recipes that are bound to satisfy any palette. Whether you are in Japan, Singapore, Australia, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Canada, or America you will always be able to find your own Beard Papa's

Chef Laura Dale
Kya's Promise Kitchen
Kya's Promise Kitchen honors our oldest daughter Kya, who taught us how to parent a child with profound medical needs and disabilities. After her passing, we promised to turn our grief into purpose by supporting other special-needs adoption families. That promise drove us to adopt three more children with significant disabilities, including two from Ukraine. To raise the $62,000 needed, I began creating and selling candy confections, desserts, catering, fundraiser dinners... you name it I sold it — it was a journey that launched my professional culinary career. I spent three years at Gozzer Ranch Golf & Lake Club, advancing from Pastry Assistant, then Lead Line, and ultimately Pastry Sous Chef. I then served as the Pastry Chef for BarDeNay Restaurantand Distillery. Those experiences, built on the skills honed through fundraising, became the foundation for Kya's Promise Kitchen. I am currently the 2026 winner of the Chocolate Connoisseurs' Choice Award AND The Chocolatier Master award for the Coeur D'Alene Downtown associations event "The Chocolate Affair" Kyas Promise Kitchen's business model is currently focused on private dining experiences, private chefing, culinary classes, catering and custom orders. This allows Chef Laura the opportunity to spend as much time as possible with her last remaining child with special needs (the others have all passed away) and still continue to pursue her creative passion in the world of elevated dining. *Side note on the Pay-it-forward financial grants. Over the course of five years we gifted $115,000 (dollar-for-dollar matched to $230,000 total) to help 40 children reach their forever families. Today we continue that legacy on a smaller scale, donating our time & talents to local charities, private fundraisers, auctions and outreach ministries and always with an eye to supporting special-needs adoption families.
Wine Tastemakers

Hyatt Vineyards
For the Hyatt family, farming is a way of life defined by a profound sense of pride and commitment to place - from calloused hands that gently nurture grapes and early mornings that have defined our heritage, we are rooted in a deep commitment to stewardship and an unbreakable connection to Yakima Valley. When Leland and Lynda Hyatt planted our first estate grapes in 1983, they were cementing a family legacy that continues to thrive four decades later. As true pioneers, of Washington State wine growing, we have spent over four decades refining a philosophy of purposeful viticulture. We believe the most honest wines are grown, not made. By employing low-intervention vineyard practices, we allow the unique terroir of the Rattlesnake Hills to speak with clarity. Every vine is tended with the understanding that our role is to honor the natural expression of the fruit, ensuring a true sense of place in every harvest. In the cellar, our approach is guided by a steadfast respect for varietal character. The ultimate motivator behind every finished wine is balance and dedication to showcasing the distinctive nature of our estate from which the grapes were grown. Achieving this requires a delicate dance between the craft of the artisan and the play of the scientist, blending intuitive art with technical precision. The heartbeat of Hyatt Vineyards is a mission where tradition and innovation are seamlessly blended. We take immense pride in honoring the legacy of our past - lessons learned from the dirt and the seasons - while carrying that spirit forward with new, purposeful innovations. We are constantly evolving, integrating modern sustainability with the time-honored techniques that first put Hyatt Vineyards on the map. We invite you to join us in this continuing story - one that celebrates where we've been while enthusiastically pouring the way forward.

Hedges Family Estate Winery
It was 1986 when Tom (Born in Richland, WA) and Anne-Marie Hedges (Born in Champagne, France) formed American Wine Trade. This company, which brokered West coast wines all over the world would become their foundation in the wine industry. In 1989 they purchased 50 acres of land on Red Mountain. Little did they know that this would soon become one of the most sought-after AVA's in Washington state. Planting 40 of the 50 acres purchased with Bordeaux varietals solidified the Hedges Cellars brand as an estate grown winery. Hedges Cellars became Hedges Family Estate in 2001, when son Christophe began working in sales. Brother Pete joined Hedges as general manager in 1997 and became Head Winemaker in 2002. Daughter Sarah joined in 2006 and was the assistant winemaker until becoming Head Winemaker in 2015. Led by a passion for authenticity and a deep connection to the land they call home, the Hedges Family epitomizes the modern wine estate. Rich cultural upbringings and a shared love for creating beautiful wines converge at the heart of the Red Mountain AVA. Hedges Family Estate fosters a true homegrown approach to farming and viticulture, through Biodynamic and Organic farming methods and minimal intervention winemaking. Nature takes the lead, resulting in wines that are pure, expressive, and alive – true reflections of their place of origin. Through their French-inspired architecture, gardens, vineyards, and wines, they celebrate their French and American roots – bringing the joy and beauty of wine to the world. They invite you to sip and savor the moment, at their table or yours.

He leverages the unique, carbonate-rich white soils of Red Mountain to cultivate premium, estate-grown grapes. His focus centers on classic French varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay.
